His Holiness Pope Francis invited Christian Leaders of Lebanon to Vatican for a Day of Prayer and Reflection for Lebanon.
Some 10 senior leaders of the various Christian Churches and communities of Lebanon have arrived in the Vatican for a day of prayer and reflection with Pope Francis, on the current situation of the troubled Middle Eastern nation and its future, and to implore for the gift of peace and stability.
The July 1 Day of Prayer and Reflection for Lebanon, called by Pope Francis, is to help revive hope and peace in the country. His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia is one of the Church Leaders of Lebanon arrived in Rome on June 30th to participate in this Day of Prayer and Reflection. His Holiness Aram Catholicos and His Eminence Archbishop Shahe Panosian, Primate of Lebanon and Father Hovakim Panjarian, director of communication of Antlias, were welcomed at the airport in Rome by His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Representative of the Armenian Church to the Holy See and His Excellency Garen Nazarian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Holy See on June 30th.
Pope Francis called on all men and women of goodwill to join the Day of Prayer and Reflection for Lebanon during his Sunday “Angelus” prayer on Sunday. He urged for prayers so that Lebanon may have “a more serene future”.
